Our story....Faith, without action, is dead.

We are consistently asked how we came to adoption.  I would love to share our journey of faith.  God's hands have been all over this from the beginning.

My husband Andy and I have been blessed with 2 biological daughters, Olivia age 4 and Avery Age 2 (tomorrow).  For as long as I can remember I have wanted to adopt a child.  Andy, on the other hand, had zero interest in adopting or having 3 children.  This of course came up in conversation a lot.  One evening as we were brushing our teeth (yes, gross I know)  he very firmly told me we were done having children, we were not adopting and not to mention it again.  WOW!  If you know my husband he is "the nicest man in the world".  He is not firm with me very often.  I cried myself to sleep that night as my heart broke.  I continued to pray over it, just not nearly as fervently.

It was nearly 12 weeks later while at bible study that I heard God tell me we needed to adopt a child-it was so clear.  I just pleaded with Him that I could not ask Andy again--He just said "Beth, do it."
That night, as we were going to bed (after the tooth brushing-was not going there again!) I told him that I felt a clear message from God that we needed to adopt.  Without any hesitation my husband said "yes, let's look into it."
I nearly fell out of our bed!  "Are you serious?"  I said.  The answer was "yes".  I don't know what you believe, but that had to be God.  No one else is capable of that type of change in my husband.  We began a bible study on adoption provided by some friends and began praying for His clear direction.  By the time we were through the study we knew what was going to happen.  God had a child for us somewhere in the world.  How amazing!  We knew it was going to be a journey of pure faith, like no path we had taken before.  May He receive all the glory!
